A podcast for your first hundred hours of listening
Nihongo con Teppei is one short, unscripted Japanese monologue a day, and it goes straight onto your Yomidori shelf so you can read along while you listen.

The hardest part of learning to listen is finding something pitched just below your level that you can stand to hear every day. Most "beginner" audio is either painfully slow textbook dialogue or real native speech you have no hope of parsing yet.
Nihongo con Teppei threads that needle. Each episode is three to five minutes of Teppei talking, unscripted, about something small: what he ate, a trip, a word he likes. No English. No music beds. Just one person speaking clearly and naturally, every single day, for years. There are well over a thousand episodes.
It's the closest thing to having a patient friend who only speaks Japanese.
Add the feed below and the show lands on your shelf. The audio streams from Teppei's own source (so his download stats stay intact) and listening is free. Transcribe an episode (Premium) and it becomes a read-and-listen piece with a transcript synced to the audio. Tap any word you don't know to gloss it; save it and it lands in your review queue with the sentence attached.
You get the listening and the reading from the same five minutes.
Start with the most recent episode, not episode one. Teppei's pace and clarity have only improved. Listen once without reading. Listen again with the transcript. Tap the two or three words that stopped you, save them, and move on. Tomorrow, a new episode.
That's the whole routine. A hundred hours of this and real Japanese radio stops sounding like noise.
